Entries: Premiums and entry forms are available on our website at the “showing” tab. Send entries to Janice Polletta 23124 San Juan Drive Tehachapi, CA 93561. Include all signatures, cards and a check for all fees. Include a completed Bear Valley Springs Association Liability Release each year for the summer shows.
Fees: All rides: Open, AA & YR: $45.00 per class; Juniors: $30.00 per class. Grounds fee: $10.00 per horse at BVS Equestrian Center for non-BVS horses trailered in. $35.00 office fee. See full prize list for all fees. No refunds after closing without a vet’s letter.
Times: Preliminary Ride times will be posted on our website and Facebook Page on the Thursday night before the show. If an email is provided, ride times will also be emailed. It is the rider’s responsibility to contact the show secretary if the show time is not found. Show times are subject to change up to the morning of the show.
Awards: Ribbons to 3rd place. Show High Point prizes for each rider’s division: Open, Adult Amateur, and Junior. Prizes apply to English Dressage classes only with winning scores of 60% or higher. Ribbons first to third in each class both English and Western dressage. Yearend awards for training level through 4th Level will be calculated for Tehachapi Chapter members achieving the highest overall average scores across at least three shows. Scores may be earned at any test level excluding exhibition classes and introduction classes. The Show/Chapter reserves the right to add or vary these awards.
Western Dressage classes basic through Level 4 will be calculated for high point at each show with scores of 60% or greater in Open, Amateur, and Junior. End of year award for high point over 2-3 shows will be calculated for Tehachapi Mountain Chapter members. Year end awards will be presented at the Chapter Banquet.
Stabling: Corrals & campsites: contact the Equestrian Center Manager at 661- 821-3960
Directions to BVS Equestrian Center: from State Rte 58, exit @ Hwy 202. Valley Bl: turn right. Proceed about 7 miles. Right Turn on Cummings Valley Rd. (four way stop, Bear Valley Springs sign.) Bear Valley Rd Right turn. After Guard Gate, 2.4 miles to Equestrian Center on left. Roads are good; signs are visible. Address as above to Google directions. Tehachapi is about a one-hour drive from Bakersfield or Lancaster.
Show Footing: Sand in competition and warm-up arenas.
Other: Food, at present, is now available at lunch time. Complementary bottled water and coffee is available in the show office during the show. A Veterinarian is on call. Summer temperatures average in the high 80's.
